Drawing Inspired by Nature – Creating a Fall Botanical Sketchbook

Capture unique shapes, textures and subtle color shifts that nature brings us while improving your drawing skills and expanding your botanical knowledge. Using nature as our subject, create a series of fall inspired drawings, all captured in your botanical sketchbook. Class time will be spent focusing on unique visual characteristics of individual plants. Students will learn different techniques to enhance drawings and add color. Attention will be given to composition and new ways to capture your subject.

From Pen to Print – Quick & Easy Lithography

Printmaking couldn’t be easier than this! No carving, cutting or etching required. Unlike relief or intaglio printmaking, lithography is done from a flat surface using the repelling properties of oil and water. Polyester plates make the process even easier. Drawings or designs can be easily traced or drawn onto the printing plates. Step by step instruction will be given and student will go home with a small edition of prints. Please bring an image or idea no larger than 6’ x 8” to use for your plates.
