Jazz at CAM with the Danny Janklow Quartet

Experience the vibrant energy of the Danny Janklow Quartet at JAZZ at CAM, our celebrated monthly series showcasing diverse jazz talent. This month, we’re excited to feature Danny Janklow, whose innovative and personal approach to jazz blends seamlessly with R&B, funk, and indie soul. Janklow’s performances are marked by his experimental spirit, courageous improvisation, and provocative imagination.

A recognized talent from an early age, Janklow headlined the Detroit Jazz Festival in 2012 and was chosen as a composer for the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program in 2013. His exceptional skills were further celebrated with a Grammy win in 2021 for his contribution to “Monk’estra plays John Beasley.” Janklow has also shared the stage with musical icons such as Stevie Wonder, Aloe Blacc, Wayne Shorter, and Herbie Hancock.

Joining Janklow will be the talented members of the Danny Janklow Quartet: Butler Knowles on bass, Jon Hill on drums, and Brandon Shamar on piano. Their performance promises to deliver an evening of captivating jazz, blending traditional elements with modern grooves.
