Discover the magic behind ink-making with Jason Logan, a pioneering Toronto ink maker renowned for his unique approach. Logan forages natural ingredients—such as weeds, berries, bark, flowers, rocks, and rust—to create custom inks for a diverse range of artists worldwide, from New Yorker cartoonists to Japanese calligraphers. Witness how his playful alchemy transforms everyday materials into vibrant stories and reestablishes our connection to nature.
Following the film, enjoy an exclusive exploration of Thomas Sayre’s remarkable work displayed in CAM’s Hughes Wing. Sayre, a visionary painter, experiments with unconventional mediums like smoke, fire, and water to blur the lines between intentional and spontaneous artistry.
