Ceramics & Fiber Hybrid
In this 6-week adult ceramics workshop, students explore the intersection of clay and fiber arts by combining handmade ceramic elements with weaving, rope, fabric, and natural materials. Inspired by contemporary mixed-media artists and traditional craft techniques of the Gullah Geechee as seen in Rooted in Memory: The Gullah Geechee Vision of Jonathan Green.
Projects may include: woven wall hangings, hanging planters, mobiles, ceramic jewelry, sculptural fiber pieces.

Supplies:
$26.25 supply fee payable to the studio to cover clay and firing costs.
Students are invited to bring different textile and decorative materials for their pieces. Suggested items include but are not limited to: Cotton rope, Macramé cord, Embroidery floss, Yarn, Raffia, Twine, Fabric scraps, Felt, Linen strips, Natural fibers (hemp, jute, sisal), Driftwood, Small branches, Reeds, Feathers, Dried grasses, Seed pods, Shells, Smooth stones, Large-eye needles, Beads, Jump rings, Jewelry wire, Fishing line, Wooden dowels, and Metal hoops.
