Wilmington folk group Les Fontanelles brings its harmony-driven sound and distinctly coastal point of view to Music@CAM.
Presented in connection with With A Southern Accent: Sporting Art and Fine Art of Eastern North Carolina, this concert celebrates the music, stories, and sense of place that shape the region. With deep roots along the North Carolina coast, Les Fontanelles blends sweetness, grit, humor, and heart into songs that feel both familiar and entirely their own.
The band draws inspiration from artists including Townes Van Zandt, Dire Straits, The Byrds, Blaze Foley, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Mazzy Star, and Magnolia Electric Co. Their music reflects a belief that life may be filled with heartache, but laughter and love are what make the journey beautiful.
Equal parts front-porch gathering and late-night storytelling, a Les Fontanelles performance moves easily between tenderness, wit, and a little mischief. Be prepared to cry, cackle, and blush before the afternoon is over.
The five-piece group features members of Wilmington bands No Dollar $hoes, Masonboro Sound, and The Barnraisers, including Carson Jewell, Jesse Jewell, Richard Welsh, Shane Lippard, and Tiff Reece Jewell.
