Saturday, November 8th | 10 AM-12 PM | CAM CourtyardÂ
Free; part of CAM Community Day
Join us this month for a special Kids at CAM, as we commemorate the United States Colored Troops fight for freedom at this Veteran’s Day celebration, part of CAM’s free Community Day. This month’s session will take place outside in the courtyard, and will include art activities for all ages, parents included, facilitated by museum staff.
Try your hand at spoken word poetry with guest artist LeJuane (El’Ja) Bowens. Kids, teens and parents are invited to hear the stories of little known African-American heroes, and create art and poetry to celebrate them.
Each guest can take home a copy of Answering the Cry for Freedom: Stories of African Americans and the American Revolution by Gretchen Woelfle.
