Join us Thursday, September 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Reception Hall at CAM for an illuminating lecture on the life and work of Helen Frankenthaler presented by Elizabeth Smith, Executive Director of the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation.
Grounded in Abstract Expressionism and best known for developing the revolutionary soak-stain technique, Helen Frankenthaler pushed the boundaries of painting across a remarkable six-decade career. Her later print Aerie, a vivid screenprint in CAM’s permanent collection, features over 90 colors and is currently on view in Game Changers exhibition. Created just two years before her passing, the work exemplifies Frankenthaler’s enduring innovation and mastery of her medium.
