Painting Playful Patterns

Do Patterns intimidate you? Do still lives seem boring? Let's put them together and find how exciting they can be. Strips, Florals, Checks, they all form a lovely canvas or backdrop for your still life to appear. Remember Cezanne promised France he would "astonish them with an apple"! You can too!

Hard pastels - NuPastel brand is easily accessible online and in some stores (Jerry’s Artarama in Raleigh)
Medium pastels- Rembrandt, Holbein, Richeson
SOFT pastels- Blue Earth, Terry Ludwig, Unison, Sennelier, etc
Not oil pastels!

Papers:
SMOOTH Surface:
Pastelmat (comes in pads or single sheets and many colors)
Canson BE CAREFUL THERE ARE MANY CANSON PAPERS AND SOME ARE SMOOTH AND SOME HAVE A PRESSED IN PATTERN SURFACE (your choice)
