View the award winning documentary 'Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope'. The film screens in our spacious reception hall from 12-1 PM, followed by an optional brief discussion with other community members. Learn about the New Hanover County Resiliency Task Force.
After the screening at 1 PM, join our Cultural Curator Daniel Jones for a tour of Boundless with a focus on resiliency themes.
The CAM offers free screenings of Resilience on the first Friday of each month (unless there is a holiday and then it moves to the second Friday). Feel free to grab lunch at the CAM café, or bring your own lunch!
No fee and no registration necessary.

Join Luc Travers for the release of his new book, Stories in Paint: 50 Moving Artworks from American Museums. In his book, Luc shares paintings with dramatic, poignant, and meaningful stories while demonstrating a powerful method to make the visual arts more interactive and engaging for everyone. During a thirty-minute slideshow presentation, Luc will share some of his favorite artworks from the book as well as some of the distinctive touches that make it innovative. Following the presentation there'll be time for questions, discussion, and book signing. Your registration includes a complimentary glass of wine, beer, or sparkling water.
This book is for everyone, from art novices to life-long art lovers, from young families to retirees. Luc Travers is the author of Touching The Art: A guide to Enjoying Art at an Art Museum. He received his B.A. in Art History from the University of Memphis. Since 2005, he has taught and created curriculum in art appreciation and literature for students of all levels. Along with teaching in the classroom and online, Luc has shared his passion for art through tours at dozens of museums all over the country.

Susan serves on the board of the Carolina Beach Mural Project. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Susan studied Commercial Art and Advertising at Utah State University. In 1996, she started Creative Art by Susan Nuttall, a company specializing in commissioned artwork incorporating oils, textured mix media, and encaustic paintings along with original murals. Her need to create heavy textured artwork started when her grandfather went blind. Susan lives at Carolina Beach where her paintings are inspired from photos taken during her many travels around the world.

Join The Dance Cooperative as they celebrate 20 years! A special evening of dance will be presented by choreographers Nancy Podrasky Carson, Sue Meier, Kate Muhlstein and Linda Webb. There will be a variety of pieces including dance films and will represent modern, ballet, contemporary, and jazz styles of dance.

Forward Motion Dance will bring a preview event of their new and recent choreography to CAM. Enjoy dance performances with live music and film as the artists interact with the audience through discussion and audience questions.
Forward Motion Dance Company, Inc., is a Wilmington, NC, based non-profit 501(c)(3) dance organization whose mission is to provide local and regional communities with quality modern contemporary dance and education in the art of dance, as well as enhance the local arts community by providing performance opportunities for area dancers and performance artists.

Come join us in an ever-changing gallery setting for a yoga practice designed for relaxation, rejuvenation and self-reflection. Come breathe with us as we restore the body and mind in a one hour session. Asanas are all-level and beginners are welcome. Participants can choose to use a mat or a chair. Donations support youth scholarships.

Kim Gargiulo, RYT, has been teaching yoga classes for over 12 years. She enjoys teaching and practicing vinyasa yoga where each pose organically flows into the next, incorporating breath with movement. The overarching goal of yoga, to Kim, is to unite the body, mind and spirit.
