Take part in the Cameron Art Museum’s first ever Kids State of the Art exhibition.
Young North Carolina artists, ages 5 to 17, can submit one work of art to be included.
We ask that all artwork be dropped off at the Cameron Art Museum on Saturday, August 6th anytime between 10AM and 5PM.*
We will also have a satellite drop off location at Dreams Center for Art Education on Saturday, August 6th anytime between 10AM and 2PM.*
While the young artists are welcome to join their parent or guardian to deliver their work, they are not required to. Any adult who is dropping off more than one work of art will be asked to fill out a registration form for each work of art. This downloadable form can be filled out before you arrive to deliver the art work, or you can fill it out at your drop off location in the areas provided.
*Please do not drop off artwork before or after these established times. We will not be able guarantee that works dropped off at other times will be included in the exhibition. You may send your child’s artwork with another adult that you authorize to assume responsibility of your child’s work.

Celebrate the opening of our first ever exhibition of all young artists! Free access to all of CAM’s exhibitions all day, as well as a variety of family friendly activities and performances throughout the day. Participating young artists will have the option of wearing a ribbon so that they can be acknowledged as artists.
As a part of our community day, we will have a station for a ‘Collaborative Community Drawing’ which will be overseen by different artists from our community:
10AM to 12PM – HP Fangs
HP FANGS is a Wilmington based pop artist who’s done projects all over the community. He is the middle school art teacher at Glow Academy, as well as the owner of DO ART! A local kids art studio & gallery where he teaches one on one lessons and provides kids space to hang their work for exhibition.
12PM to 2PM – DO ART! Club
These students were the founders for the idea of DO ART! Studio & Gallery. While only in high school they’ve teamed with the community for large scale murals, organized their own art shows and have even lead several family art programs at CAM
2PM to 4PM – Angie Fernot
Angela Fernot is the Co-Creator of Tales of Cape Fear, a locally owned comic book anthology set here in Wilmington. She mentors commercial artists on building their small business, and she is a teaching artist at DREAMS Center for Arts Education.
Kids State of the Art exhibition will be open from Saturday, August 20th through Sunday, September 25th during regular CAM business hours.
All artwork will need to be picked up between Thursday, September 29th and Sunday, October 2nd at the Cameron Art Museum during regular business hours.
