We invite you to join us during this season of giving by supporting CAM and the work we do here. Your gift to the museum can do so much - from helping fund an exhibition to providing field trips for children to making it possible for a child to participate in summer camp or an art class. We simply can’t do it without you. Your support will make a real, lasting impact on our community by providing high-quality art opportunities to all.
In 2021, the Cameron Art Museum conducted a needs assessment to help shape the direction of the museum over the next 5-10 years. It is not surprising to learn that there is a disparity in access to arts and culture in southeastern North Carolina and that those who could use the benefits of art the most are often those who cannot afford it. With your support, we will raise important funds for free community days at the museum with guided tours and family activities, as well as transportation to bring families from underserved communities to the museum to participate in these community days. In addition, your funds will allow our CAM education team to go on-site to neighborhoods across Wilmington to bring art directly to the community.
A gift to education is a gift that makes a difference. From field trips to outreach to under-served populations to professional development
for teachers to art history lesson plans to family programs that use art to teach core curriculum.
Examples of how your money could be used:
$100 provides an interactive field trip to 10 under-served youth
$250 provides a class scholarship to a child in need
$500 supports professional development training in arts integration for teachers
By supporting exhibitions, you ensure that CAM continues to bring high-quality visual art to eastern North Carolina.
CAM's Connections program is a trusted resource for those living with dementia and their caregivers. Your gift makes visits from
memory care units and nursing homes possible.
Join Cameron Art Museum's campaign to commemorate the United States Colored Troops and their historic efforts at the Battle of Forks Road
on the museum grounds. Your contribution will help us to realize a park, the first of its kind in North Carolina and in the nation,
focused on the heroism of the USCT during the Civil War.
