This course will use the natural areas around the museum as inspiration to study the details of flora and improve drawing ability and techniques through close observation. Class time will be spent drawing outside, focusing on the unique visual characteristics of individual plants. After returning to the studio, students will enhance and refine their drawings using pencil, pen and/or adding color. Experimentation is encouraged. Some previous drawing experience suggested.

With just warm water and lots of squishing, you will take wispy strands of wool and make an image you can hang on the wall. Wet felting even makes a finished piece of cloth that can be embellished with stitching or transformed into a usable object.

It's time to stop thinking of your smart phone as a phone with a camera in it and think of it as a camera with a phone in it. I am often asked, "What is the best camera to have." I have always felt that it is the one in your hand, or pocket. Today's smart phone comes equipped with a capable camera. Using algorithms to assist in compiling the image, the results can be stunning. In this workshop we will explore the native photographic capabilities that are already in your smart phone and tablet. All you need is an iOS or Android device and your curiosity to liven up your social media. This is a three hour workshop for everyone.

From European Classics to Latin American Popular and Folk Traditions
The Lopez Tabor Duo, Alfonso Lopez, violin, and Michelle Tabor, piano, have performed and toured together in the southeastern U.S. and Venezuela since 2004. Alfonso Lopez is one of the most prominent and versatile musicians of his country. He holds the important position of concertmaster of the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, the national and principal orchestra, which has been nominated twice (in 2013 and 2017) to receive a Latin Grammy award. He is also a conductor, teacher, and composer. Michelle Tabor grew up in Venezuela and now lives in Tallahassee, FL. In this workshop participants will offer a white board with "I Am" written on the top to people on the street and invite them to complete the thought by writing down their feelings. We will then make a portrait with the person and the board. By working with strangers to create a photograph in half a minute, this workshop will hone the photographer's interpersonal and portrait skills. On Saturday, we will meet at the corner of Market and Front streets downtown. Sunday will be a Zoom meeting. Please have a mask, remember social distancing and dress for the weather.

In this workshop participants will offer a white board with "I Am" written on the top to people on the street and invite them to complete the thought by writing down their feelings. We will then make a portrait with the person and the board. By working with strangers to create a photograph in half a minute, this workshop will hone the photographer's interpersonal and portrait skills. On Saturday, we will meet at the corner of Market and Front streets downtown. Sunday will be a Zoom meeting. Please have a mask, remember social distancing and dress for the weather.

This class is about painting in the outdoors alla prima (wet on wet). We will deal with how to get organized, make the most of your time and get the best results from painting on location. All mediums are welcome, although the instructor's demos will be in oil paint.
