Awesome Animals! Shading and Proportions

Tuesday, 9/6/2022
4:30PM-6:00PM
Instructor: Carolyn Faulkner
CAM member: $88; Not-yet-member: $110
Youth: Middle School –
Learn two essential techniques to draw an awesome animal! Proportions are a must to make a correct drawing. Proportions are the size relationships between objects and the sub-parts of an object. Shading enhances the drawing and gives it a 3D effect. We will work with graphite pencils to create realistic creatures. Camels, elephants, and tigers are a few choices.

Fearless Color!

Wednesday, 9/7/2022
10:00AM-12:00PM
Instructor: Carolyn Faulkner
CAM member: $116; Not-yet-member: $145
Do you love bright bold colors? Do you love soft muted colors? If so, this class is for you! Learn how to create a harmonious color palette and a contrasting color palette. Decide if you want a painting filled with harmony or a painting using bold contrasts. Your painting can be a garden scene or objects of your choice. I will bring in photos but you can choose from your own as well. Contrast will give your artwork drama and opposition. Harmonious colors are similar. They flow, they are close in hue! Are you the person that wants to blend and get along or are you the rebel that wants to be different? Let your personality explode on your canvas!
