This is a 2 day watercolor intense portrait workshop. A different portrait is done each day. Watercolor paper and paints will be given at the begging of the first day of class. Participants need to bring their existing palette and other painting supplies like brushes, water container see supply list. Class will do a step by step process following instructors direction.

Students are invited to bring in favorite supplies to use in addition to a variety provided by instructor.

Speak Ya Peace: Juneteenth Celebration

The Juneteenth Committee of Wilmington will host an afternoon of celebration with spoken word, music, and dance. Juneteenth recognizes African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. Hear from poets, writers and organizations in our community, sample local flavors from food trucks, and come dressed in African inspired attire. It's a time for communities to come together for reflection and rejoicing.

If you love the element of surprise that printmaking, cyanotype and wet cyanotype processes provide you will be enjoying the hours during guided and open ended studio time enriching your skills and preparing a portfolio filled with papers you have created of different sizes and types during this workshop. Expect to engage with centers after demos and time for touching examples. Learn how to work with different applications, surfaces, history, tools, incorporating image transfer, resources, content, composition and preservation. Lumen, photogram, argyrotype and chlorophyll printing will be touched on with opportunity to experiment.
