June 19th & June 20th
Instructor will demonstrate a painting of a still life. Preliminary thinking will be explained and demonstrated. She will go over design, color, value and approach. After demo individual instruction will be provided. Still lifes will be set up around the room, taking into account the 6 foot distance rule.

The southern end Wrightsville Beach has a wonderful rookery for Black Skimmers and Turns. They return every year and put on quite a show. By getting there early, we will be able to watch as the birds bring breakfast back to their nests. Participants will remain safely away from the nesting grounds while enjoying a great view of the feeding and interactions of these animals.

Inspired by the Cameron Art Museum's current exhibitions, ‘Safe Places: Robert Johnson’ and ‘Elizabeth Bradford: A House of One Room’, we will have story time in the galleries, followed by and art activity that connects to the book and the artwork. Art Explorers is geared towards infants, toddler and preschoolers, but big brothers and sisters are welcome to join, learn and create art with us.

Art Explorers: Wonderful Water

Adults and children 2 and under: Free
Join Miss Bobbi and Miss Georgia as we explore different ways to have fun with water and art. We will read "Hey, Water" by Antoinette Portis and "Water" by Frank Asch, then head into the galleries to see how many different examples of water we can find in the paintings. We will create art outside using chalk and water, watercolors, and watered down paint in spray bottles. Art Explorers is geared towards infants, toddler and preschoolers, but big brothers and sisters are welcome to join and create art with us.

This photography workshop is geared to the photographer of all skill levels. There are many interesting and accessible places to photograph here in the Wilmington region. One of the best is our downtown itself. Participants meet at the corner of Front and Nunn to begin our Walkabout. The homes and gardens of old Wilmington make wonderful subjects for the photographer. With stunning views of the Cape Fear from the River Walk and the city center offering opportunities for classic street photography, this workshop will be a winner for every photographer. Any digital device may be used for this workshop, smart phones, tablets or DSLRs. DSLR street photography is fun using a wide lens, but a telephoto zoom would also be nice to bring everything in close. Alan will be available with assistance and technical advice. Meetup is 10 AM at Front and Nun Streets. Please have a mask, remember social distancing and dress for the weather. On Saturday, we will meet at the corner of Market and Front streets downtown.
