Bring in a photo of your pet whether it be a goldfish, iguana, or some exotic animal. Of course dogs and cats are welcome! If you don't have a pet but want one, if you draw it maybe your wish will come true. You will learn to put the eyes in the correct place, the correct way to determine the length of the body, and overall proportions. It will then be colored with pencils and you will learn blending, shading, and layering to bring your pet to life

Absolutely no painting experience is necessary. This will be a continuation of Intuitive Painting I but new students are welcome to join in.
We will again be starting class with mediations or readings to calm our minds and let our subconscious take over. Calming music may be played at the beginning of class. Then the class will be silent. Paints and brushes will be in the center of the room and each student will choose the color and the brush they would like to begin with. No paints will leave the table in cups. The student will go back and forth and let their intuition choose the color and brush to be used each time. No preconceived ideas. No attachment, no judgment, play, and inner visions are an integral part of this creative process. $10/supply fee

Developed in the late 15th century, drypoint is a technique in which drawing is scratched directly into a printing plate by using a pointed tool. Tile Making

Art Explorers – The Art Lesson

We will read ‘The Art Lesson’ by Tomie dePaolo and look at the hundred of works of art on display in our State of the Art exhibition. We will talk about all the different ways you can make art, then create our own mini-masterpiece using drawing and craft materials.
Art Explorers is geared towards infants, toddler and preschoolers, but big brothers and sisters are welcome to join and create art with us.

Closing the Gap with Arts Integration: Professional Development Workshop for Educators and Parents of Students in Grades K-8
Deepen your understanding of CAM’s USCT public sculpture Boundless through the lens of history, poetry, and movement. Learn what arts integration is and how you can employ it in your classroom.
These workshops are designed to teach educators how to use the arts to teach core curriculum and help close the achievement gap
through active learning strategies that engage all learners. These workshops are offered free to all educators in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin,
New Hanover, Onslow, Pender, and Sampson countries. Participating educators will receive a certificate of completion to submit to their respective counties for CEU credit consideration.

‘Resilience’ Community Screening, Gallery Talk

View the award winning documentary 'Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope'. The film screens in our spacious reception hall from 12 PM to 1 PM, followed by an optional brief discussion with other community members. Learn about the New Hanover County Resiliency Task Force. https://www.nhcbouncesback.org/. After the screening, join our Cultural Curator Daniel Jones for a gallery tour with a focus on resiliency themes.
The CAM offers free screenings of ‘Resilience’ on the first Friday of each month (unless there is a holiday and then it moves to the second Friday). Feel free to grab lunch at the CAM café, or bring your own lunch!

This is a 2 day watercolor intense portrait workshop. A different portrait is done each day. Watercolor paper and paints will be given at the begging of the first day of class. Participants need to bring their existing palette and other painting supplies like brushes, water container see supply list. Class will do a step by step process following instructors direction.

Work with professional nude models, following a self-guided format studying the human form - in your medium of choice. A basic understanding of technique and tools is suggested. Purchase punch cards online to be used in morning or evening sessions. Single, drop-in tuition can be purchased online or paid upon arrival.
