New CAM Members are invited to a Member Coffee to meet Executive Director Anne Brennan or Deputy Director Heather Wilson and learn a little about CAM’s history. It’s an introduction to CAM’s exhibitions, programs, classes and volunteer opportunities. Free; registration required.
Tour of the galleries following the coffee is optional.

Enjoy a morning of music in the galleries, adapted exhibition exploration, as well as optional hands on activities and the choice to bring a boxed lunch to enjoy in our café or courtyard area. Geared towards individuals in the earlier stages of Alzheimers and dementia, this program is offered on Mondays when we are otherwise closed to the public to ensure a quiet and calm environment. Glory at Wilmington: The Battle of Forks Road
Dr. Chris E. Fonvielle Jr., Professor Emeritus in the Dept. of History at UNC Wilmington will make his last public presentation at the Cameron Art Museum on the Battle of Forks Road, fought February 20-21, 1865. Confederate forces tried stubbornly to hold Wilmington against the rapidly advancing Union army with U.S. Colored Troops in the lead. Dr. Fonvielle will discuss his discovery and research and efforts to interpret and preserve the history of the last battle fought before Union forces captured Wilmington, the Confederacy's last major seaport and most important city by that point in the Civil War.
Dance Cooperative Informal Showings

The Dance Cooperative will be hosting choreography showings as they prepare for the Wilmington Dance Festival, a celebration of evocative local dancers and choreographers. Choreographers will show works in progress and receive feedback. The Dance Cooperative is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to nurture the dance community by providing affordable classes and performance opportunities for those under-served artistically, culturally and economically in the greater Wilmington area.
Free with museum admission.

Join us for a conversation with Bertha Todd on her book Reflections on a Massacre and a Coup. In this book, Todd shares how a group of citizens in Wilmington, North Carolina came together to create the centennial commemoration of the 1898 Massacre, eventually forming the 1898 Centennial Commission (now the 1898 Memorial Foundation). Todd recounts how it all came to be, including the creation of 1898 Memorial Park in 2008.
