Located in PNC USCT Park on CAM’s grounds\, this striking monument honors the legacy of the United States Colored Troops (USCT)—the brave soldiers who fought in the Battle of Forks Road during the Civil War in 1865.\n\nThe sculpture was created from casts of the features of 11 African American men connected to the site and its story – USCT descendants\, re-enactors\, veterans\, and community leaders. Boundless was unveiled on November 13\, 2021\, and is on permanent view in the PNC USCT Park on the museum grounds. The sculpture is deeply connected to our community’s history\, present\, and future. \n\n\nWhen: Every Friday from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Presented in partnership with Cucalorus Film Foundation\, each event offers an opportunity to experience cinema in an intimate setting and continue the conversation after the credits roll. \nThis screening features Flesh for Frankenstein\, starring Udo Kier and produced by Andy Warhol. \nWithin the decadent walls of the Frankenstein mansion\, Baron Frankenstein and his assistant\, Otto\, believe they have discovered the means of creating new life. As the laboratory fills with stitched body parts and the household descends into chaos\, the film unfolds as an outrageous blend of horror\, satire\, dark comedy\, death\, and dismemberment. \nFollowing the screening\, guests are invited to remain for a special discussion exploring the film and its place within Andy Warhol’s creative legacy. \nTickets are available through Jengo’s Playhouse. \nRegister \nPresented in partnership with Cucalorus Film Foundation.

DESCRIPTION:We Lift Each Other: Film Screening and Workshop with Black Box Dance Theatre\nSaturday\, August 2912:30–4:30 PMFree; registration requested \n12:30–2 PMMovement Workshop for Veterans\, Active-Duty Military\, and Military Families \n3–4:30 PMCommunity is invited to a free Live Performance\, Film Screening\, and Talkback \n  \nVeterans\, active-duty service members\, and military families are invited to an afternoon of movement\, reflection\, and shared storytelling with Black Box Dance Theatre. \nFor more than a decade\, Black Box Dance Theatre artists have worked alongside veterans\, using movement to honor the experiences of those who have served. Through dance\, participants explore personal stories\, recognize resilience\, and create meaningful connections with one another. \nThe movement workshop takes place from 12:30 to 2 PM in CAM’s Reception Hall. All ages\, abilities\, and levels of movement experience are welcome. \nAt 3 PM\, the community is invited to a free public screening of We Lift Each Other\, a documentary exploring Black Box Dance Theatre’s transformative work with veterans across North Carolina. \nDirected by Lou Pepe and produced by Tony Award-winning producer Mara Isaacs\, We Lift Each Other follows the Raleigh-based modern dance company’s work with Asheville-area veterans through Brothers & Sisters Like These and Veterans Treatment Court during the summer of 2023. Their collaboration culminated in a moving public performance at the Wortham Center. \nUnder the artistic direction of 2026 Raleigh Medal of Arts recipient Michelle Pearson\, Black Box Dance Theatre travels across North Carolina\, using modern dance to strengthen communities\, foster resilience\, and create space for veterans’ stories. \nThe afternoon concludes with a conversation featuring the dancers and workshop participants. DESCRIPTION:Boundless Tour in the PNC USCT Park – Free with Museum Admission\n\nStep into history with a guided tour of Boundless\, a life-size bronze sculpture by artist Stephen Hayes. Located in PNC USCT Park on CAM’s grounds\, this striking monument honors the legacy of the United States Colored Troops (USCT)—the brave soldiers who fought in the Battle of Forks Road during the Civil War in 1865.\n\nThe sculpture was created from casts of the features of 11 African American men connected to the site and its story – USCT descendants\, re-enactors\, veterans\, and community leaders. Boundless was unveiled on November 13\, 2021\, and is on permanent view in the PNC USCT Park on the museum grounds. The group carries forward a gospel singing tradition passed down through generations of the Daniels family. Its members are descendants of Dorothy Vines Daniels of The Glorifying Vines Sisters\, the acclaimed eastern North Carolina gospel group founded by Dorothy and Johnny Ray Daniels. \nFaith & Harmony features Kadesha Speight\, Renay Sugg\, KeAmber Daniels\, Andrea Edwards\, Christy Moody\, and Tinesha Weaver. Known for their spirited vocal delivery and layered Jubilee harmonies\, the group preserves eastern North Carolina’s rich sacred soul and gospel quartet traditions while sharing this musical legacy with new audiences. \nHarmony and song have shaped the members’ lives since childhood.
