DESCRIPTION:Boundless Tour in the PNC USCT Park – Free with Museum Admission\n\nStep into history with a guided tour of Boundless\, a life-size bronze sculpture by artist Stephen Hayes. Located in PNC USCT Park on CAM’s grounds\, this striking monument honors the legacy of the United States Colored Troops (USCT)—the brave soldiers who fought in the Battle of Forks Road during the Civil War in 1865.\n\nThe sculpture was created from casts of the features of 11 African American men connected to the site and its story – USCT descendants\, re-enactors\, veterans\, and community leaders. Boundless was unveiled on November 13\, 2021\, and is on permanent view in the PNC USCT Park on the museum grounds. DESCRIPTION:Connections invites people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia and their caregivers to experience CAM in a supported environment designed to minimize stress and to provide a connection with the art thanks to support from Champion McDowell Davis Charitable Foundation. \n  \n\n\n\n\nOn Mondays\, when CAM is closed to the public\, guests enjoy a guided tour of the exhibitions led by CAM Connections Volunteers. Following the tour\, participants are encouraged to create artwork inspired by what they’ve seen. Located in PNC USCT Park on CAM’s grounds\, this striking monument honors the legacy of the United States Colored Troops (USCT)—the brave soldiers who fought in the Battle of Forks Road during the Civil War in 1865.\n\nThe sculpture was created from casts of the features of 11 African American men connected to the site and its story – USCT descendants\, re-enactors\, veterans\, and community leaders. Boundless was unveiled on November 13\, 2021\, and is on permanent view in the PNC USCT Park on the museum grounds. Presented in partnership with Cucalorus Film Foundation\, each event offers an opportunity to experience cinema in an intimate setting and continue the conversation after the credits roll. \nThis screening features Flesh for Frankenstein\, starring Udo Kier and produced by Andy Warhol. \nWithin the decadent walls of the Frankenstein mansion\, Baron Frankenstein and his assistant\, Otto\, believe they have discovered the means of creating new life. Through dance\, participants explore personal stories\, recognize resilience\, and create meaningful connections with one another. \nThe movement workshop takes place from 12:30 to 2 PM in CAM’s Reception Hall. All ages\, abilities\, and levels of movement experience are welcome. \nAt 3 PM\, the community is invited to a free public screening of We Lift Each Other\, a documentary exploring Black Box Dance Theatre’s transformative work with veterans across North Carolina. \nDirected by Lou Pepe and produced by Tony Award-winning producer Mara Isaacs\, We Lift Each Other follows the Raleigh-based modern dance company’s work with Asheville-area veterans through Brothers & Sisters Like These and Veterans Treatment Court during the summer of 2023. Their collaboration culminated in a moving public performance at the Wortham Center. \nUnder the artistic direction of 2026 Raleigh Medal of Arts recipient Michelle Pearson\, Black Box Dance Theatre travels across North Carolina\, using modern dance to strengthen communities\, foster resilience\, and create space for veterans’ stories. \nThe afternoon concludes with a conversation featuring the dancers and workshop participants. A specialist in jazz performance\, Hill has shared the stage with Ray Codrington\, Melvin Sparks\, Slide Hampton\, Percy Heath\, Winard Harper\, Ron Blake\, Randy Johnston\, Eddie Henderson\, and New Orleans’ Dirty Dozen Brass Band. He has also performed with James Brown’s “Soul Generals” and opened for Edwin McCain and RatDog.\n \nEnhance your experience by dining at CAM Café\, located inside the museum. The café is open from 5 PM to 8 PM.
