SUMMARY:Film Screening: The Color of Ink - An Exploration of Contemporary Artistic Materials
DESCRIPTION:Join us November 24 at 2 PM for an unforgettable evening that celebrates the artistry and mystery of ink! \n\n\nJoin us for a captivating journey at “The Color of Ink” film screening\, where the rich history and innovative uses of ink in contemporary art come to life. This event features acclaimed artists and scientists\, including Anirudh Sharma and Jason Logan\, who delve into the primal significance of ink throughout humanity’s evolution. \n\n\nDiscover the magic behind ink-making with Jason Logan\, a pioneering Toronto ink maker renowned for his unique approach. Logan forages natural ingredients—such as weeds\, berries\, bark\, flowers\, rocks\, and rust—to create custom inks for a diverse range of artists worldwide\, from New Yorker cartoonists to Japanese calligraphers. Witness how his playful alchemy transforms everyday materials into vibrant stories and reestablishes our connection to nature. \n\n\nFollowing the film\, enjoy an exclusive tour of Thomas Sayre’s remarkable work displayed in CAM’s Hughes Wing with September Krueger\, CAM’s Director of Lifelong Learning. Sayre\, a visionary painter\, experiments with unconventional mediums like smoke\, fire\, and water to blur the lines between intentional and spontaneous artistry. As carbon transforms into ink\, universal symbols and stories emerge. \n\n\n\n\nDon’t miss this enlightening event celebrating the interplay between art\, nature\, and innovation.\n\nMake an afternoon of it by grabbing brunch at CAM Café before the event! Call (910) 777-2363 to reserve a table. Open 10 AM – 2 PM. \n  \nCAM Members $5 \nNot Yet Members $10  \nTICKETS HERE\nLearn more about Thomas Sayre: Four Walls here.
