SUMMARY:Mindfulness Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness Meditation in the Galleries\nFriday\, February 20\, 9 – 9:50 AM | $5 suggested donation\n\nJoin us in a contemplative gallery space for mindfulness meditation\, taught by Certified Teacher Bonne Lynn Anderson. \nSimply put\, mindfulness is the practice of bringing attention to the present moment and meeting whatever arises without bias or criticism. With regular practice\, it cultivates spacious awareness around our thoughts and emotions\, encouraging clarity and the ability to respond rather than react. Scientific research shows it can also enhance balance\, focus\, strength\, and resilience. \nMindfulness meditation is a secular practice\, accessible to all\, and deeply beneficial both on and off the cushion. \nAbout the Instructor:\nBonne Lynn Anderson is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher through Dharma Moon and Tibet House. Her lifelong interest in spiritual practice has led her to explore a range of teachings\, with this practice in particular emerging as her most effective and accessible path. Her teaching style is friendly\, grounded\, and welcoming to all experience levels. \nNote: The galleries can be cool—bring a garment for comfort. \n\n\n\n\n\nLearn more about Wellness at CAM here.\n\nFor questions or concerns regarding accessibility\, please contact Georgia Mastroieni\, Deputy Director of Operations at (910) 726-9492 or georgia@cameronartmuseum.org

SUMMARY:Novant Health Day at CAM
DESCRIPTION:Novant Health Day at CAM: Celebrating Health\, Wellness\, and Art\nAll Day Saturday\, March 7 — Free Admission for all Novant Health Employees & Families \nCameron Art Museum invites Novant Health employees and their families to Novant Health Day at CAM\, a special day of wellness-focused art experiences on Saturday\, March 7\, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Novant employees may visit free of charge — no code or flyer required; simply identify yourself to Visitor Services staff as a Novant Health team member upon arrival. \nNovant Health is a nonprofit integrated health system devoted to improving the health of communities one person at a time. With a commitment to compassionate care\, innovation\, and community well-being\, Novant Health strives to help people live their healthiest lives and brings remarkable experiences to life for patients\, team members\, and communities across the Carolinas. \nNovant Health Day at CAM celebrates the connection between wellness and the arts — a relationship supported by a growing body of research showing that engagement with visual art\, creative processes\, and cultural experiences enhances physical\, emotional\, and social well-being. According to national research\, Americans recognize that arts participation can positively influence personal health and overall quality of life\, contributing to stress reduction\, community connection\, and heightened personal well-being.  \n“As an organization devoted to the health and well-being of the communities we serve\, Novant Health understands that wellness extends beyond clinical care\,” said September Krueger\, Cameron Art Museum’s Curator of Education and Public Programs. “Art and creativity offer powerful ways to support emotional balance\, mindfulness\, and human connection — core pieces of a healthy life.” \nHighlights of Novant Health Day at CAM include: \n\nWellness + Art Experiences: Meet CAM’s Art Enhances Health staff and explore examples of student artwork created in this innovative wellness-oriented program created for cancer patients and their caregivers— connecting artistic expression to emotional resilience and community well-being.\nPop-Up Meditation in the Galleries: Take part in a guided meditation session amid inspiring artwork\, blending mindfulness practice with the restorative benefits of contemplative art viewing.\nSpecial CAM Membership Offer: Novant employees can take advantage of discounted memberships available only on March 7.\n\nThis event is part of Cameron Art Museum’s ongoing commitment to wellness through art\, aligning with research showing that creative engagement supports mental\, emotional\, and social health — and reinforcing the museum’s belief that meaningful cultural experiences are essential to community well-being. For more information about wellness programs at CAM\, including yoga and meditation in the galleries\, Connections tours for people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia and their caregivers\, and more\, visit cameronartmuseum.org/wellness.
