ART\, BEATS + LYRICS celebrates the legacy of the groundbreaking visual art and hip-hop roadshow that began in Atlanta in 2004 and has since become the national phenomenon. The documentary chronicles the lead up to AB+L’s twentieth anniversary tour.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Black Arts Alliance presents the 21st Annual North Carolina Black Film Festival in Wilmington\, NC. The North Carolina Black Film Festival is a Four day juried and invitational festival of independent motion pictures by Black filmmakers which showcase features\, shorts\, animation\, documentary films\, and student films. DESCRIPTION:CAM Members: $5\nNot-Yet Members: $10\nStudents: Free \n  \n  \n\nJoin us on the closing day of Stay in the Light for a screening and conversation with artist Charles Edward Williams. For several years\, Williams has used film as another tool for community engagement while exploring cultural identity. The films address topics from Williams’ personal confrontation of fear to a national reckoning with police brutality and the need to reestablish trust in authority. Williams is inspired by the Black experience. His paintings\, drawings\, videos and installations investigate current historical cultural events related to racism and stereotyping.
