SUMMARY:CAM After Dark: "At a Stranger's Table" Film Screening and Conversation
DESCRIPTION:CAM After Dark: At a Stranger’s Table Film Screening and Conversation\nThursday\, November 12 | 6:30–8 PM\nReception Hall\n$10 Members / $15 Not-Yet Members / Free for Students \nRegister Here\nWatch the Trailer:\n \nWhat happens when people whose lives rarely intersect come together around a shared table? \nJoin us for a special screening of At a Stranger’s Table\, a documentary following H-2A farmworkers in eastern North Carolina from the fields to a shared meal with members of the local community. \nTold through the workers’ own voices\, the film explores labor\, family\, separation\, and dignity while inviting audiences to consider the connections that can emerge through conversation and shared experiences. Around the table\, people separated by language\, culture\, and circumstance come together to listen\, exchange stories\, and find common ground. \nFollowing the screening\, stay for a conversation with artists Cornelio Campos and Sally Jacobs\, and filmmaker Scott Temple\, moderated by Isabela Luján. Together\, they will explore the film’s themes of community\, identity\, and the power of storytelling to deepen our understanding of one another. \nTo make this program accessible to a wider audience\, simultaneous Spanish translation will be available throughout the evening. She is represented by Prince Street Gallery in New York City. \n \nCornelio Campos is a self-taught Mexican American artist based in Durham\, North Carolina.
