DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness Meditation in the Galleries\nFriday\, March 20\, 9 – 9:50 AM | $5 suggested donation\n\nJoin us in a contemplative gallery space for mindfulness meditation\, taught by Certified Teacher Bonne Lynn Anderson. \nSimply put\, mindfulness is the practice of bringing attention to the present moment and meeting whatever arises without bias or criticism. With regular practice\, it cultivates spacious awareness around our thoughts and emotions\, encouraging clarity and the ability to respond rather than react. Scientific research shows it can also enhance balance\, focus\, strength\, and resilience. \nMindfulness meditation is a secular practice\, accessible to all\, and deeply beneficial both on and off the cushion. \nAbout the Instructor:\nBonne Lynn Anderson is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher through Dharma Moon and Tibet House. Her lifelong interest in spiritual practice has led her to explore a range of teachings\, with this practice in particular emerging as her most effective and accessible path. SUMMARY:Boundless Tour in the PNC USCT Park
DESCRIPTION:Boundless Tour in the PNC USCT Park – Free with Museum Admission\n\nStep into history with a guided tour of Boundless\, a life-size bronze sculpture by artist Stephen Hayes. Located in PNC USCT Park on CAM’s grounds\, this striking monument honors the legacy of the United States Colored Troops (USCT)—the brave soldiers who fought in the Battle of Forks Road during the Civil War in 1865.\n\nThe sculpture was created from casts of the features of 11 African American men connected to the site and its story – USCT descendants\, re-enactors\, veterans\, and community leaders. Boundless was unveiled on November 13\, 2021\, and is on permanent view in the PNC USCT Park on the museum grounds. The sculpture is deeply connected to our community’s history\, present\, and future. \n\n\nWhen: Every Friday from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
