CAM is delighted to host young artists from DREAMS Center for Art Education. The afternoon opens with a presentation of Quilting.
QUILTING with Hands, Arms, Feet, Legs, and Entire Bodies Through Dance. The Dance Theatre of DREAMS will explore the energy and vibrance of the African-American people through dance and quilting examining the dialogue engaged by the dancers to the viewers, as inspired by the artistry of quilting by the quilting artists on exhibit. The transformation with an explosion of color and vibrancy will give life to the quilts on exhibit, and produce DANCE!
The afternoon continues with ekphrastic poems inspired by The Work of Their Hands exhibition. Line/Byline class is led by Teaching Artist Tim Joyner. \ The class explores identity and self-expression through the written medium and performance.
