Closing the Gap: AI in Education

February 13 @ 4:00 pm

Join us for an event to support our area’s educators with the tools and inspiration needed to continue their work at minimizing those learning gaps.

From 4-6 PM, spend a fun and enlightening evening with CAM during an exclusive professional development session. Closing the Gap highlights the ease of arts-integrated learning in the classroom. Each session focuses on topical education concerns, artwork on view at CAM or in the permanent collection, and supporting our teachers and students with standards-rooted lesson plans.

In honor of the Rising Stars exhibition, we will take a deeper look at emerging trends in the art room and classroom environment. Participants should bring their own device to explore the potential of AI with curiosity and creativity. Compare and contrast how our communication with each other and technology can influence our creative capacity.

From Pre-K to College, each Closing the Gap session is designed to be adaptable to virtually any classroom. Participants receive a certificate at the conclusion of the event eligible for CEU submission at their school.

At 6 PM, join us for an illustrated lecture with regional arts educators on the impact of arts education and influential contemporary artists. We will explore the future of AI in the art world and how to prepare students for the innovations it will bring.
Panelists include:
Amber Colón, M.S., Educational Technology Specialist, UNCW
Dr. Jeff Ertzberger, Director of Technology
UNCW, Kelly Jones, Arts Education Director of Columbus County Schools
