Studio 1 | Space Makers Exhibition
CAM Members $10 | Not-Yet Members $15
Join sculptor and painter Jean Gray Mohs for an intimate CAM After Dark Artist Talk in conjunction with the Space Makers exhibition. A versatile mixed media artist, Mohs explores the balance between play, risk, and disruption through a thoughtful juxtaposition of materials—sturdy wood, fragile waxed thread, and steel. Her work is inspired by the organic structures found in our bodies and nature, capturing the resilient human spirit.
Based in Raleigh, NC, and currently working out of Shopspace, Mohs holds a BFA and MAT from Georgia Southern University. Her work has been featured in 26 solo shows, 91 group exhibitions, and 24 museum and university displays. She has exhibited at the Contemporary Art Museum, Artspace, and more, and her work has been recognized in publications such as Southern Living and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Deeply informed by her personal experience with chronic illness and disability, Mohs’s art is an exploration of emotional and physical vulnerability, strength, and transformation.
