Join us on Sunday, October 13, at 2:00 PM for an engaging book discussion with author Sayantani Dasgupta as she presents her compelling essay collection, Brown Women Have Everything ~ Essays on (Dis)comfort & Delight. Growing up in New Delhi, Dasgupta’s imagination was fueled by a love of adventure stories, from English escapades to Bengali ghost tales. Now an acclaimed author and professor, Dasgupta brings this same curiosity and wonder to her writing.
In Brown Women Have Everything, she takes us on a vivid journey through cathedrals in Italy, pirate graveyards in North Carolina, and beyond. These eighteen interwoven essays explore themes of body image, violence, travel, and belonging, with Dasgupta’s signature blend of humor, pride, and deep reflection. Her work challenges bigotry and bias and celebrates the connections that unite us across cultures and continents.
This event promises to be an insightful exploration of the ties that bind our global lives together, led by a powerful and poetic voice.
