This Wilmington-based dance company, founded by Tracey Varga, brings modern contemporary dance to the local and regional communities. As a non-profit organization, Forward Motion Dance is dedicated to enhancing the local arts scene by offering quality dance performances and educational opportunities. Their mission includes fostering a love for dance and providing performance platforms for area dancers and artists.
The company sponsors public arts events such as “Cape Fear Arts in Motion” and “Arts Sensation,” and collaborates with local schools and community organizations including Snipes Academy of Arts and Design, Wilmington School of Ballet, DREAMS of Wilmington, The Dance Element, The Dance Cooperative, and the YWCA Lower Cape Fear. Through these initiatives, Forward Motion Dance seeks to make dance accessible and engaging for all.
