Drawing Inspired by Nature: The Unexpected Beauty of Winter

Use nature as inspiration to create beautiful drawings! Improve your drawing ability through close observation. For the winter session we will bring the outdoors inside discovering the wonderful shapes and colors that nature reveals. Class time will be spent drawing various winter greens, early blooms and the unexpected beauty of fallen leaves and branches. Students will learn different techniques to enhance drawings and add color. Focus will be given to composition and new ways to capture your subject.

Spiral bound Mix-media Sketchbook 98lb min., apx. size: 9”x12” (i.e.: Canson XL Mix Media 98lb)
Drawing pencils: HB, 2B, 4B
Kneaded eraser (Faber-Castell or other high quality brand)
White eraser
Fine point marker (waterproof) i.e. Sakura pigma micron pen 02 or 03
Phone camera will is helpful to record your subject for later reference
Supplies to add color (student choice) Watercolors, Watercolor pencils, Colored pencils, etc. (Instructor will have examples to experiment with during 1st class)
