Using basic hand-building techniques to create fun and functional art. Pinch pots, slabs, and coils bar used to create whatever you can imagine. Anywhere from funky cups and bowls to Dragon Cookie Jar or Elephant Piggy Bank.

Botanical Illustration

Students learn to sight measure creative realistic portraits and figures in drawings. Taking these skills, students learn how to create original Anime style characters for their own story boards. Learning techniques and skills, create a story line and characters. Design a cover featuring an original character, and a story board with an Anime story line. For Beginners or continuing Fall I students.

Through demonstrations practice exercises and games on The Potter's Wheel students learn the basics of throwing and trimming. This class may include a brief history lesson on the origin of the wheel and cultures that created pottery. Some meditation techniques are demonnstrated to help the students relax and focus.

Practice simplified printmaking techniques to transfer images in graphically strong black/white and color. Young students design, ink and print their own creative images on a variety of papers using hand-built studio printing press and traditional tools.
