FAMILIES: Kids @ CAM at Miracle Field

We are bringing Kids @ CAM to the Miracle Field at Olsen Park (5510 Olsen Park Lane, 28403) on the special date of Saturday September 8! The Miracle League of Wilmington gives hundreds of children and adults with disabilities a chance to play baseball with their fully accessible field and playground. This will be a day for families with children of all ages and abilities to play and create together. Wonderful community organizations and entertainers will be joining us:
• Kids at CAM – Cameron Art Museum: Collaging and Drawing
• Broccoli Brothers Circus – Interactive Music & Performance
• The Ability Garden – NHC Arboretum: Planting Activity
• The Children's Museum of Wilmington: Slime Activity
• ACCESS of ILM – Miracle League: Putt Putt & Corn Hole

* Sams Hot Dog Stand of Oleander
Don't miss this afternoon of creativity, inspiration, art and FUN! All Ages and Abilities Welcome. No pre-registration necessary. Parental supervision required at all times. Kids @ CAM is fun for the whole family! Suggested donation: $5 per child

Cafe Nouveau (www.chrisluthermusic.com)--Alex Chamyan, violin, Chris Luther, guitar, and Sean Martin, guitar--bring their “Gypsy Jazz” sound, inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt, and Stephane Grappelli, to the Café’s After Hours Jam. During this free day see our two newest exhibitions: "A Time When Art is Everywhere: teamLab" in the Hughes Wing, and "Like and Likeness" in Studio 1.

The Dance Cooperative, in association with CAM, provides informal showings to give working choreographers and dancers a place to present works in progress for review and critique in a nurturing environment. The public is invited to witness the creative process through its many stages and provide assistance to help the creator grow the works to realize their concepts to the fullest potential. Looking for something to do with the kiddos while school is still out? Come bring your little ones to the CAM for story reading and art making! Story Explorers will expand its usual time and offerings to include several tables of art supplies for children to make their own creations. CANCELED: “Wild & Tame” Chautauqua literary

Join in as "Chautauqua" literary journal launches Issue 15, “Wild & Tame”. The journal is edited by a team of UNCW creative writing students. The event will feature selected readings from the journal and original music by the duo Gause and other local singer-songwriters. Free and open to the public, the event is held in collaboration with UNCW Creative Writing Department and Cameron Art Museum. Weyerhaeuser Reception Hall. Refreshments available for purchase from CAM Café.

CAM Café: Perry Smith, guitarist

Enjoy music by Perry Smith (www.perrysguitar.com) while you dine at CAM Café (910.777.2363). Perry, a multi-instrumentalist specializing in guitar and including hand percussion, oud, mandolin, Native American flute, key boards and vocals. Perry accompanies dance classes at UNCW, facilitates drumming programs for special populations, and teaches lessons from his studio at the Art Works. He also plays regularly with Cosmic Groove Lizards, Axiom, Zion, Sea Pans and Narayani. CAM Café reservations are always suggested and appreciated.
