Jazz @ The CAM: MW Voices

Welcome newcomers MW Voices to the Jazz @ The CAM series, a jazz vocal group comprised of Jessica Coppolla, Molly Darden, Whitney Lanier, Kyle Miller and Cameron Tinklenberg on vocals with Jerald Shynett on piano, Doug Irving on Bass and John Hill on Drums. The ensemble is led by Jerald Shynett an associate professor of music at UNC Wilmington; paying homage to the vocal jazz tradition as well as perform music that spans many idioms in the realm of American Roots music. Purchase seats on CAM’s website, by phone and at CAM’s Visitor Services desk. CAM/CFJS Members: $12.00, Non-Members: $20.00, Students with valid college ID: $10.00 (tax and fees not included).

Page to Stage Unlimited (https://www.facebook.com/pagetostageunlimited?_rdr=p) presents a series of staged readings of original, locally-written works offering a mix of comedy and drama with a different theme each month. February’s theme is “Groundhog Hijinks” featuring four works. Joel Perry will present two more scenes from “Why Everything Sucks (or not)”, two unlikely people, an old grumpy Jewish guy, and a younger man who is deeply Christian become great friends. Josh Bailey presents more from “Potential Lives,” about various people who share the same identity reflect on their lives. Ken Vest will offer a short film script entitled, “Flat Bed Blues” about a hapless trucker who takes a wrong turn. And Josh Drew brings us “Righteous Martyr” which explores religious intolerance. Come for an informal evening of thought-provoking and lively new works and give your reactions and feedback. Free and open to the public, donations appreciated

Dance: Works-in-Progress Showcase

The Dance Cooperative, in association with CAM, provides informal showings to give working choreographers and dancers a place to present works in progress for review and critique in a nurturing environment. The public is invited to witness the creative process through its many stages and provide assistance to help the creator grow the works to realize their concepts to the fullest potential.
